Daryl is the Co-founder & Business Development Director at JDI, a Venture Catalyst driving forward the future of innovation. He oversees all sales, marketing and business development activities across the group's 6 BUs, namely,
Daryl is also a contributing writer to regional tech startup publications, speaker and mentor at startup/entrepreneurship/innovation related events and programmes, Vietnam Partner at Asia Bridge, Tokyo Ambassador at Invest Toyko, and a certified basketball referee with the Basketball Association of Singapore (BAS).
Daryl believes in technology and innovation for a better world, and is passionate about supporting startups to build, grow, and scale their business across Southeast Asia. He’s a (B2B) business development and project management professional, who's been active in the region's tech startup ecosystem since 2011.
Before JDI, Daryl was the Head of Special Projects at e27, responsible for identifying new revenue streams and creating new business development opportunities for the company.
He was also Project Director at e27, where he oversaw all things Echelon - Southeast Asia's leading business & technology conference - as well as other programmes within the company.
Daryl graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance, and a minor in Technopreneurship.
With the NUS Overseas Colleges programme, he spent a year's stint in Stockholm, Sweden, reading Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management at KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
When he’s not working, you can find him doing fitness and mobility sessions at the gym, taking long walks, or shooting hoops at the nearest basketball court in Singapore and Saigon.
