Speaker Bio

Peerapon Vateekul received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Miami, USA, in 2012. He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.

His research spans machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, data mining, and big data analytics, with a focus on hierarchical multi-label classification, natural language processing, data quality management, and explainable AI. He applies a wide range of machine learning techniques to practical use cases across various domains, including medical imaging and videos, satellite imagery, meteorological data, and text analysis.

Chulalongkorn University has been part of the NVIDIA AI Technology Center (NVAITC) since 2018, and he is one of the active members of this community. He has collaborated on multiple projects with the NVIDIA team, focusing on explainable AI, federated learning, deep learning, and generative AI, with an emphasis on applying AI solutions to real-world challenges across multiple domains.
